محمد جواد

Senior Systems Administrator and SAP & ERP Lead

For three and a half years I ran the servers, networks and SAP Business One system behind a seven-company group: 73 users, one data center, and month-end numbers that match to the cent. Before that, an ERPNext rollout I led end to end and an SAP S/4HANA implementation I helped deliver.

Consolidated financial reporting on SAP HANA

  • Automated 54 consolidated reports as HANA views and procedures, with a portal on top.
  • Validated every report against closed months signed off by finance.

Result: 23 of 23 closed-month checks matched the finance statements to the cent.

Approvals and postings moved into SAP

Supplier payments were approved on paper and journal entries typed in twice.

  • Built a payment approval portal where the finance manager approves requests against open SAP invoices on mobile, with push notifications.
  • Built a posting portal for journal entries, incoming payments, fund transfers and commissions, writing straight to SAP.
  • Deployed both behind Caddy and Cloudflare Tunnel with TLS, role-based access and audit-logged exports.

Result: Every approval traced to its SAP outgoing payment; no paper, no retyping.

I am a systems administrator who ended up owning the ERP as well. I started in a data center at NetGate-Iraq, running customer servers and networks and joining an SAP S/4HANA implementation team. At Al-Qalab I led an ERPNext rollout end to end. At Al-Rafidain Group I ran both sides for seven companies: the infrastructure, and the SAP Business One system their finance depends on.

That combination is the point. When the finance manager’s consolidated report is wrong, the cause can be a HANA view, an authorization, a VLAN or a backup that did not run. I have fixed all four, and I would rather be the person who can tell which it is.

I am based in Baghdad, Iraq, and work in Arabic and English, on-site, hybrid or remote.

The oldest writing we have, pressed into clay five thousand years ago, is accounting. Keeping records that reconcile is an old trade.
